They're only really ever 45min-1hr phone calls and don't factor into long term planning, but if I keep it up over several years, it bears the question: how much should I actually be charging? Still very illiquid, which is why I bother with the calls.

Original Poster. Search My Stuff What's New 3 12 24 P-Jay Original Poster 9, posts months. Had a bit of a strange request today. A guy from the above organisation contacted me via LinkedIn, seemed to know a bit about me and my background, but mostly about my former employer and their industry - they are pretty unique in the way they do things. Long story short, they've offered me a 'couple of quid' I know how much for an as yet unknown 3rd party to talk to me on the phone for an hour about my knowledge of the industry, of which I do have extensive knowledge, abet limited to my roles within it. But I can't help but thinking it's all a bit odd - leaving aside the story, someone I don't know contacted me offering me money for a simple task. I don't have a non-disclaimer agreement with my former employer and we didn't part on good terms - I have no moral issue with selling my knowledge about the industry as I was owed in a moral sense a pretty decent amount of money when I left, if sadly for me contractually they didn't have to pay it, so they didn't. My current role is completely different so I'm not stepping on my Boss's toes either and I can do it after-hours. But am I being scammed? Or perhaps my, it has to be said, vindictive former boss trying to trap me into some legal nightmare or is this something that's quite normal and I just haven't heard about it before. In regards to this 3rd party - I'd have to sign an agreement to not disclose our conversation, or who I spoke to, in return my name wouldn't be mentioned anywhere on any paperwork their end. I agreed to the first offer, which I know must have been a mistake ha ha. Bullett 9, posts months. I'd have to sign an agreement to not disclose our conversation, or who I spoke to, in return my name wouldn't be mentioned anywhere on any paperwork their end. Actually all you have done is mention Alphasights. They appear to be a knowledge broker, pretty elaborate set up to scam you! You're not being scammed - one of my friends used to work for AlphaSights. Probably one of the most easily replicable and profitable business models around. I have completed a couple of interviews for them. Do the call, fill in the form online and get paid in 30 day or so. Thanks all, I took a 40 min call last week and a quick follow up yesterday which took less than I'm not sure how much the first person knew about me, they asked a lot of generic questions I didn't know the answer too, in fact I didn't really understand the question - but I was determined not to make some half-arsed guess and let them base some policy on it so I just said "sorry, no idea". The second guy knew a lot more about me and wanted to know a lot more stuff about my former employer directly but I was happy to give me opinion and didn't have any hard facts to give them. All in all I was paid of an hour and a half of my time, and whilst, judging on what I've found online I could have asked for a lot more, I was paid enough for a lovely night out with my wife and some new bits for my Mountain Bike for giving up my lunch break. I was just approached with the same offer. I haven't accepted yet. You mentioned you looked online and could have gotten more. Can you provide links? I'm curious about participating, but would like to negotiate for a higher amount and would like to have some data to back it up. Thanks in advance! That helps! I'll reply to their email and see what happens. I'll post back if they do use me. PistonSound 1 posts 49 months. I was also approached and although I eventually trusted them a bit more doing some more research, I declined, as things were too little transparent upfront. It turned out that the rep became quite rude and displayed unacceptable behavior.

For regression ensembles, the predicted values are averaged. For a logistic regression, input data for all numerical fields except the objective field must be provided. Example: "my new prediction" private optional Whether you want your prediction to be private or not. This will be 201 upon successful creation of the prediction and 200 afterwards. Make sure that you check the code that comes with the status attribute to make sure that the prediction creation has been completed without errors. The method used to combine predictions from the non-boosted ensemble. See the available combiners above. However, for logistic regressions, it really means probability, and thus, confidence will be deprecated soon. Note that this property is not available for ensembles with boosted trees and that for models An array of confidence pairs for each category in the objective field. True when the prediction has been created in the development mode. The number of predictions in the ensemble that failed. The dictionary of input fields' ids and values used as input for the prediction. Specifies the type of strategy that a model or models in an ensemble will follow when a missing value needed to continue with inference in the model is found. Either 0, 1, or 2 to specify respectively whether the prediction is from a single model, an ensemble, or a logistic regression. The id of the field that it predicts in the model, ensemble, or logistic regression. A string if the task is classification, a number if the task is regression prediction filterable, sortable A dictionary keyed with the objective field to get the prediction output for the model, ensemble, or logistic regression. An array with a prediction object for each model in the non-boosted ensemble. An array of probability pairs for each category in the objective field. The parameters (k and class) given when a threshold-based combiner is used for the non-boosted ensemble. A list of the confidence (or expected error in the regression non-boosted ensemble) for each prediction candidate. Bad fields are ignored. That is, if you submit a value that is wrong, a prediction is created anyway ignoring the input field with the wrong value. An ordered array of Predicate Objects in the decision path from the root to the current node or to a final decision if the the next predicate array is empty. Unknown fields are ignored. That is, if you submit a field that is wrong, a prediction is created anyway ignoring the wrong input field. An array of field's ids with wrong values submitted to build the model or logistic regression. A status code that reflects the status of the prediction creation. Example: "my new centroid" private optional Whether you want your centroid to be private or not. A dictionary describing the centroid. See the Centroid Object definition below. This will be 201 upon successful creation of the centroid and 200 afterwards. Make sure that you check the code that comes with the status attribute to make sure that the centroid creation has been completed without errors. This is the date and time in which the centroid was created with microsecond precision. Distance will be set to -1 if BigML can't computer a centroid for a point due to a missing numeric value. The dictionary of input fields' ids and values used as input for the centroid.
